With everyone anxiously awaiting Apple’s big conference this week, we now have some news that is seemingly unrelated to Wednesday’s meeting.

As reported by Apple Insider — with information coming from respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities — the company’s new iPhone 7 could very well be the thinnest iPhone yet. The iPhone 6 is 6.9mm thick, and the 6 Plus 7.1mm, with the 7 expected to be anywhere from 6.0 to 6.5mm. In perspective, the current iPod touch and iPad Air 2 are each 6.1mm thick. The new phone is also rumored to feature durable 7000 series aluminum alloy, which would presumably alleviate the majority of bending issues.
