The Bachelor Project is proud to announce our new Bach Lady of the week: Nicole Sjoberg. Be sure to read her feature to see how she came in to being a model, as well as the most romantic thing a guy can do for her.
What’s good, what city do you reside in?
Los Angeles, California.
How did you get into modeling?
I first started off in the music industry working with many different major record labels and a few producers from Sony. I had spent years growing up in the business as my mother, Beverly Sjoberg was a professional singer who actually opened up for Aretha Franklin. Unfortunately she passed away when I was 16 and I decided that even though I grew up on the road, music had always been my home, the one consistent thing that was there no matter which city I was in. So I packed my suitcase and off I went! Eventually, while doing photo shoots for the music, people would ask me “are you a model? are you a singer?” I found that the modeling came natural and opened up many doors and unfortunately confused a lot of executives and they would say “well you look like a model…. but you are a singer?!” Many didn’t quite know how to place me and it became a huge obstacle for me in the music world and it was something I fought against. I tried so hard on my shoots to avoid looking like a model and try looking more like an “artist” (whatever that meant!). Eventually I realized, why fight something that comes natural, opens doors and creates monetary value?! I then embraced the modeling with my long time music manager Doug Wimmer. We then formed a company called Vision City Entertainment and within one year branded me with over 15 international companies, including Playboy, Harley Davidson, Skin Industries Clothing, Nady Wireless, etc, etc. I was very proud to know we built it from absolutely nothing and within one year were able to achieve so much. At the end of the day, photography, modeling, music, it’s all an art, all creative, and I get just as much joy out of the modeling as I do the music… In fact… I am coming out with BRAND NEW music this year! Which I am very excited about as the modeling has allowed me to sit back, and focus and do the music “I” wanna do, and say the things I’ve been wanting to say for years! It’s a new birth! [Smiles].
How long have you been modeling for?
My entire life! Almost as long as I’ve been doing the music.
What are your measurements?
32 25 33
Favorite foods? Explain.
SPICY AND HOT!! The endorphin rush makes me feel good while eating it! I hate bland food!
Most memorable modeling job to date?
There are so many amazing companies that I was able to shoot with that for me are very memorable and appreciated. But I gotta say the most memorable ones are the ones where I was doing them for myself. Creating the image myself by cutting shirts, scarves, designing clothes, doing my own makeup and brainstorming ideas as to creative direction. I love having creative freedom.
What is the craziest thing a guy did to try to get your attention?
I am originally from Canada… so I would have to say hitch hiking from one province to another IN THE DEAD OF WINTER I might add.. in hopes of bumping into me in the city I was currently staying in… which he did!! At a nightclub when I was debuting a new song! [Laughs]. Needless to say, he hitch hiked back home!
What’s type of guys are you attracted to, and what is it about that
type of guy that makes him attractive to you?
I just love GOOD men! Honest, trustworthy, confident and reliable. Someone who is just genuine and doesn’t feel the need to put on a show or prove themselves. There is something extremely sexy about quiet confidence…believe me, I’ll find strengths in you, you never even knew you had so you don’t need to go out and prove it. I like men that value the small things in life and yet have goals of their own and will be there for me when my chips are down and I can trust being vulnerable with them.
What do you think is the most romantic thing a man can do for a woman?
In my past I would have thought surprising me with whips and handcuffs was romantic!! [Laughs], but again it’s the simple things. I know a lot of women dream of big weddings, big romantic displays of affection… but for me personally, I don’t need the fuss!! I appreciate more a simple touch, look in the eye, tender words, and true vulnerability underneath the superficial. Take me out to dinner and make love to me like it’s the last time you’ll ever be able to…I give my all, so take all of me in. That to me is romantic. That is what I will remember beyond anything material! Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate material gestures, but the simple things are the most important. If you don’t have that, you don’t have much.
Do you have any talents that would surprise people? Explain.
I am creative in all ways. I like to design clothing, and make my own clothing. I’m great with doing makeup and consulting other models on photo shoots to make them feel sexy and confident and translate that sex appeal into the camera. I am also very good with intuition. I can read someones energy and have been known to do tarot card readings.
What’s in your IPod? Favorite artists and why.
Wow… I have such a wide expansive musical taste… but I use my IPod primarily for working out. So I’d have to say rock music, I work out harder when I get pumped up from the aggression of it From the 80’s and on! Whitesnake, Mr.Big, Rev Theory, Halestorm, System of a down, Korn, Disturbed, Shinedown, Papa Roach, Paramore, Silver sun pickups, Nero, Scrillex, Eminem. Ozzy Osbourne, Foo Fighters. etc etc.
If you can go on vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Somewhere historic! I love tropical places too… but I’m drawn to places mythical. Russia, Greese, Italy, Egypt. I’d even love to go on a spiritual retreat somewhere in India or Thailand.
Best feature on your body and why?
I’d have to say my legs. Because they’re strong and long.
Any new ventures we can look forward to from you coming soon?
New music, and as always new photo’s and videos. I’m constantly revamping and coming up with updates! [Smiles].
Where can your viewers get in contact with you? Any Twitter, instagram and Facebook?
It’s been a pleasure. Is there anything that you would like to say to our readers in closing?
Just a big thank you from the bottom of my heart…. And we all have our strengths…we have all gone through hardships in life no matter how small or drastic…I guess over the years I’ve learned to love myself (not always easy) live in the moment, explore and appreciate your own unique talents and strengths and spread that light inside of you to the people you come in contact with. Sometimes something as simple as a smile can go a long way for everyone! Thanks again! XO!
