The Bachelor Project is proud to announce our new Bach Lady of the Week: Veronica. Be sure to check out her feature below .
Hello Veronica, what city do you reside in?
How did you get into modeling? How long have you been modeling for?
People always told me growing up that I should try to get into modelling and I’ve always loved the glamour of it, so one day I finally decided to give it a try. I did a photoshoot with one of my friends who is now in school for photography (@claudiakaay), and after putting out the photos online I got a call from a Toronto modelling agency. I signed with them when I was sixteen years old and I’ve been doing it ever since.
What are your measurements?
Height – 5’7”
Waist – 28
Hips – 42
Bust/chest – 41
I love Italian food, my faves are definitely seafood fettuccini alfredo and tartufo, which is like a chocolate gelato and raspberry sorbet dessert. I also love falafel, I eat it like twice a week haha.
Most memorable modeling job to date?
I did a bridal makeup shoot with a makeup artist named Neeshea (@mrsfacingbeauty) and photographer Derrel Ho-Shing (@derrelhoshing) when I was 17 years old that I’ll always remember. Neeshea and Derrel are both so amazing at what they do and they taught me so much during that shoot. I try to learn something new at every shoot I do so I can constantly improve my modelling game, and throughout that whole shoot I took so many mental notes! The shoot itself was lots of fun but what was really valuable was their direction and expertise that helped me improve my knowledge of posing, lighting, makeup and styling. At that point I had only been modelling for about a year so I always think about that shoot as a pivotal moment in my career. It was when I really started to become a model, not just a beautiful girl in front of a camera. If you look at the pics, which are up on my tumblr, they had me looking like such a goddess!
What is the craziest thing a guy did to try to get your attention?
I honestly don’t know where to start with that, some guys are crazy! One time I was at a bar and this random guy walked up to me out of nowhere and started singing this really dramatic love song to me. He was really going hard and my friends and I were just standing there like “wtf…” I just thanked him for his performance and left, it might sound cold but it was super awkward, I literally didn’t know how to react.
What’s type of guys are you attracted to, and what is it about that type of guy that makes him attractive to you?
I don’t really think I have a type to be honest. My boyfriend really caught my attention because he’s so confident and he’s really driven. He’s also very trim and athletic, and he boxes which I think is super masculine and sexy. I think because I’m so feminine I’m definitely attracted to very masculine men. I’m also a very strong, independent and determined woman, and I know what I want, so I need a man who can match me and isn’t intimidated by that.
What do you think is the most romantic thing a man can do for a woman?
I think remembering little things a girl says during casual conversation, like suggestions of things she wants to do, places she wants to go and gifts she wants, and surprising her by making those things happen is so sweet. Also, Every once in a while it’s nice to get a really classic romantic surprise, like some flowers or jewelry or a romantic night out; it really makes me feel like a princess.
Do you have any talents that would surprise people?
A lot of people don’t know that I used to be a competitive figure skater! I started skating at the age of three, I competed and did skating shows til I graduated high school, and I finished my Double Gold with Skate Canada. Now I just occasionally coach skating and hockey programs, and skate recreational to stay in shape.
What’s in your IPod?
I listen to such a variety of music. I love old school tracks by James Brown, Billie Holiday, Marvin Gaye, Fishbone, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. I listen to a lot of rap too. I’m really into Kodak Black, Gucci Mane, G Herbo, Future, A$AP Mob, Nicki Minaj, Lil Bibby, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, NWA and Wu Tang Clan.
If you can go on vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I really want to go to Europe. My family is Icelandic and Italian so those are two countries I have to visit.
Best feature on your body?
I think my hair is my best feature. I never dye my hair because the colour is really one of a kind, and especially contrasted with my porcelain skin, and reddish-brown eye colour… people are always fascinated by it haha.
What else do you do besides modeling?
I’m currently in school for Psychology and I work at a children’s fitness centre. I’m really into music and pop culture, I love movies and visual art. I’m also very passionate about social justice, I used to be very involved in a few activist groups for racial equality, feminism and gay rights, and I’d love to get back into that.
Any new ventures we can look forward to from you?
I have a lot of projects I’ll be releasing in 2017! I don’t wanna give away too much haha, but you can definitely expect some exciting stuff in the next few months. I’m gonna be trying some new things modelling and business-wise this year, and I’ll also be expanding my online/social media presence for sure… stay tuned!
