Swedish perfumery Byredo head to the West Coast for their latest collaborative effort, harnessing those California vibes in a new scent created exclusively for LA eyewear brand Oliver Peoples.

Perfumer Jerome Epinette took his finely tuned nose across the region collecting olfactory notes that would form the basis of this fresh scent. Lemon and juniper berries combine with orris butter, patchouli fraction, musks, warm sand accord and helichrysum for a fresh and woody unisex fragrance.

In return, Oliver Peoples work a wayfarer frame sold alongside the fragrance in semi-matte black and beige crystal. The entire package inspired by a neurological phenomenon known as synesthesia, Byredo founder Ben Gorham explains; “it’s the connection between senses where smell triggers a colour or shape…it’s technically classified as a disorder but I’ve only heard of it in immensely creative people, so in my mind it’s a gift.” Translating the visual into smell, the various colors of bottle and lens reflect different perspectives on LA, the collection an ode to a city and an exploration of sense memory.
