In follow up to the rather unremarkable sneak peek video, Sony has unveiled the much anticipated PlayStation 4 at the company’s E3 Expo presentation.

The new straight-edged design features sharp purple accents dissecting an angular matte and gloss black body and is able to stand either vertically or horizontally, much like its predecessor the PlayStation 3. Inside, the PS4 has an X86 processor, enhanced PC GPU and 8GB of high-speed unified memory. It also includes a dual-shock controller that includes a touchpad, headphone jack and share button – allowing you to share gameplay clips with friends immediately due to the machine’s “always-on” video compression. Prices for the UK were also revealed, with the PlayStation 4 due to be available for £350 (£80 cheaper than the Xbox One) some time before Christmas.
